DSM reports fatal accident at Augusta site

On 27 September 2017 a fatal accident took place at DSM's site in Augusta (GA, US), in which a contractor sadly lost his life and two others injured, and expected to recover.

On Wednesday 27 September 2017, a fatal accident took place at the site of DSM Resins in Augusta (Georgia, United States), in which one contractor lost his life. Two other contractors were injured, both are expected to recover.

DSM is deeply saddened by this tragic accident and our thoughts are with the families of the man who suffered a fatal injury and those who were injured. DSM will continue to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation by local authorities. Additionally, an independent DSM investigation team is on site and will fully investigate this incident. DSM will provide additional information when this investigation is complete.

The DSM Resins site in Augusta currently employs about 35 people. It supplies the North American paint industry with essential raw materials; polyester resins that act as the binder for the various powder-coating formulations. Site operations are currently suspended but are expected to resume shortly.
