DSM begins debate on the contribution of science to society: www.sciencecanchangetheworld.org.
Heerlen, NL, 24 Jun 2015 17:30 CEST
Royal DSM wants to pay tribute to the world’s scientists making a positive difference to our society. At the same time we would like to start a conversation about the importance of science with a societal purpose.
Science has had an enormous impact on the development of a healthier, more sustainable and more prosperous society. Yet, there is still so much to be done to tackle the world’s most pressing problems such as hunger, poverty, disease and climate change. Every day, scientists across the globe strive to provide answers to these global challenges and develop solutions that will help solve these challenges.
The campaign highlights major societal needs through powerful storytelling and inspiring people. The centerpiece is a short documentary about five independent scientists from all over the world who have gone to great lengths and made huge personal sacrifices to create solutions for a better world.
DSM puts these unsung heroes of our time in the spotlight by highlighting the positive contributions that they are making to our global society. Angelique Paulussen, Senior VP Branding & Communications: “Bright Science is the backbone of our company and a core pillar of our brand promise Bright Science. Brighter Living. We have chosen to pay tribute to these ‘unsung heroes’ of our time because they reflect our own purpose of using bright science to make lives brighter for people today and in the future.”
We would like to invite and encourage the general public, opinion leaders, governments, business, customers and other stakeholders to share their views about the importance of science with societal purpose on a new platform: www.sciencecanchangetheworld.org.
